Promotional Animation created for the M’Diro Fantasy RPG.

I created this animation using Flash CS5 and Illustrator.

One of the difficulties that i came across while working was an inconsistency of Flash’s Shape Tween feature in morphing shapes properly.  Often, rather than transitioning from one shape into another, the spaes would simply vanish during the interim frames.

Getting around this required some creativity on my part and a little knowledge of more traditional animation techniques.  I also ended up adding a couple of unplanned scenes to the storyboard in order to work around scenes that had originally been planned to include highly complicated shape tweens (such as close up dialogue and head turns.)

Overall, I am happy with the outcome of this piece as one of the first major Flash animations I have put together.  There are nine more promotional animations of this sort slated for production and I am hoping that I can come up with a better work around to the shape tween problem before I get too deep into the next one.
